Day 4... Master Cleanse.

I am on the MC again on day 4, and I am doing it 'by the book' this time. I will try to make the fourteen day mark and beyond (perhaps thanksgiving or even Christmas -- who knows?). I actually use whole organic lemons as opposed to organic lemon juice like before, and I pulverize the entire lemon. I cut it in eighths and pic out the seeds and puree it in my 'magic bullet' blender. I add a little less maple syrup and extra cayenne. Personally I am a little embarrassed to do the master cleanse. I couldn't hide it from my boss because he can smell the citrus and so I had to explain it to him, and I loaned him the book too. God forbid I start talking about this at the health club -- I would never hear the end of it. I had a hard enough time getting past everyone with veganism (protein addicts as they are). But to explain the master cleanse to them would be too much. My friends at the gym would revolt. And yet my energy and mood is elevated and my performance is greatly enhanced at the gym as well. All that out of just four lemons and twelve tea spoons of maple syrup and some cayenne pepper. But I must keep in mind that I am doing this to help me enter the world of a primarily raw food diet. I don't want to eat anything that is baked or processed by someone else. I am looking forward to doing everything from scratch, starting with whole, unprocessed foods that are not cooked or stored in a can. I hate the fact that I have to go to such extremes to get results regarding my physical health. But it must be done and I am resigned to live this way if it gives me the victory over obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, edema and depression. I see obesity as "the gateway problem" and that if I do not overcome that problem, then I wont have a chance in dealing with anything else.

I will keep you posted on my progress and I will start weighing myself in on Fridays as well. Goodbye for now.
