Day 15... Two dogs and torn muscle.

Hi Folks.

I want to wrap this blog up soon since the vegan experiment has come and gone. I want to talk about all that I have learned in my great gastronomic adventure. After all, this is really turning into the Master Cleanse Experiment, which technically is still vegan, but since October has come and gone I can only say that my experiment has come to a close and that I have learned a lot during this time. I will soon write the "story" of the Vegan Experiment and where it lead me to today. But not now. Not at this moment. I am at work.

Today, I went to the doctor for what appears to be a tear of the supinator & suspected bicep tear. My worst fear. An injury that would separate me from my health club. I got the elbow injury when my dogs popped the front gate open on my gated yard to go play with a pit bull someone was walking last Saturday morning. The pit bull was such a gentle animal and one of my dogs just wanted to play with him. The other white husky I own is dog aggressive, and I managed to catch him first by promising him a car ride. My truck parked outside my home was conveniently located at the scene of the crime, and so my husky stalled in the confusion long enough for me to throw him in the truck. But the other guy, a part chow-border collie-lab type of Heinz 57 variety type dog made it to the pit bull where they proceeded to play chase straight back into my yard. I didn't really have to do anything, but I reached down to catch my guy when I suddenly realized that catching a determined sixty pound dog with my arm was like catching a motorcycle. It bent my elbow in the opposite direction. At first I thought I hyper extended it. But it seems as though I tore some muscle tissue. Now I need to lay off the upper body work until the doctors figure out what's needed to be done. It doesn't hurt that bad, but the way my muscles work is all screwed up. I am determined to go to the gym though. I will be there this evening. Life must go on.

On a brighter note, it has been exactly three months since I have seen the doctor. Since then I have lost a total of 44 pounds. On September 14 I weighed 369 pounds. Today I weighed 325 pounds. I am pretty excited about the direction I am going in. For me there's no turning back. But we'll talk more about that later.

Bye for now.

Aww your dogs are lovely. I'm sorry you've hurt your arm though. It's good to hear you're not going to let that stand in your way. Congratulations on the weight loss to date!
